Welcome to the Literature page

For someone who has taught Language Art classes and who reads incessently, I don't know why I never created either a Language Arts page or a Literature page. Well, time to do so. I'll be placing those pesky links that I've bookmarked and never used here because I wasn't sure where to place them. I'll start off slowly and pick up some steam along the way.

holderArts & Letters Daily, comes from The Chronicle of Higher Education. It's basically a list of blurbs about articles available on the internet. The topics vary from literature to philosophy to music and gossip and more. I visit this site daily, and have for years, to find articles and essays on current issues and conflicts. One of my favorite sites on the internet.

holderBrave New World by Aldous Huxley, has the complete text for Brave New World plus critical reviews and more. If you are a Huxley fan, check this out. I haven't read this classic novel in decades so I immediately downloaded the text so that I can go back and enjoy this book one more time.

holderInternet Archive, is a treasure of which most of my friends are unaware. This is an internet library with text, audio, and video material in digital format. Everything is free and downloadable. You can find the complete works of Sigmund Freud, novels of Virginia Woolf, and the music of the Grateful Dead. I've been downloading ancient texts for one of my online philosopy courses. This is a great place to use in developing your own digital library.

holderLos Angeles Review of Books, is one of those places to go if you love literature and love book reviews, literary essays and interviews. Listed on the TED blog as one of the top 100 websites that you need to visit, I frequently visit and read reviews of books that I would like to read but will probably never find the time to.

holderThe Paris Review, offers limited free access to its online version. The legendary publication has been home to some of the most creative and influential writers since it was founded in 1953.
