Welcome to the Economics page
I'm working on adding new sites to this page. Thanks to Bethany, a student of Miss Crystal Evan, who gave me the newest link.
Agent
Pincher: The Case of the UFO, is a lesson plan for middle school students
about foreign currency.
Economic
Resources for K-12 Teachers, offers a wide variety of resources
to use in teaching economics. It is sponsored by the University
of Nebraska at Omaha Center for Economic Education. Teachers can
navigate trhough sections that offer dozens of classroom activities
and lesson plans. The economic concepts section offers advice
as to which ideas are appropriate for various grade levels. One
section identifies projects that teach principles of economics
through utilization of the Internet. An excellent site.
The
Mint Home Page, is an integrated site designed for middle
and high school students, teachers and parents created by
the National Council on Economic Education and Northwestern
Mutual Life Foundation. There are sections about investing,
government spending, making a budget and more. Good stuff.
Money: Kids and Cash, is an elementary lesson plan about banks and interest. Students will learn about why banks charge interest and how to figure out how much a person will get if they save money in a bank. This would be a good lesson for students in Grade 4 or Grade 5. The lesson includes adaptations for younger students.
Online Money Lessons, is a page with links to a variety of resources and lessons for students from K-12. There's a lot here for teachers who either teach economics or are incorporating economic lessons with Social Studies, Math or another content area.
